After researching options for transporting our belongings to our final destination, we ultimately decided to shed as many belongings as possible in order to carry everything we needed with us in our car. We left a car trunk's worth of belongings with Jesse's wonderfully accommodating parents, and with my brother who was equally forgiving of our inability to throw away certain belongings.

What a MESS!

I chose the Sherpak Go!15 to protect and carry our belongings during the 4,000 mile journey. As our good friends Liz and Nathan told us, it is equivalent to strapping a duffel bag to the roof of one's car. After testing it through wind, snow, rain, hail, frost, and highway speeds, I have complete faith in its abilities. A big thank you to Liz and Nathan for suggesting a soft top carrier.

This is how we felt, most of the time, for an entire month.
